The pin in the map shows the only entrance to the NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Resort at Umina, but we always book a group of sites right down at the bottom in the U of the creek. The kids are so used to holidaying together that they just pick up where they left off the year before. Their parents settle back into sand and gossip, and I dream of the times when I used to pile them into my station wagon and take them camping. The Umina camping tradition started when Dave wanted to celebrate his fortieth birthday and it hasn’t petered out yet.
The first year my old canvas tent got damaged in a fluke gust of strong wind. The second year I used my little green nylon tent. The next year was Bertha's first. Last year was her second. The confirmation of our four bookings for 2022 came through this morning.
